Random thoughts of an idle mind
I used to have an editorial column with this title many, many years ago. It was in my college paper. In that tiny piece of low-budget space, I was able to jot down random, often senseless, thoughts from local television shows like Marimar (remember the talking dog Fulgoso?) to the persistence of political unrest in my country. Looking back. That column was, as this one has become an IS, a small piece of an ever widening space, where thoughts are jotted down, ideas are listed (and most likely, later on considered inane), and emotions are acknowledged. Like its dictionary.com definition, HODGEPODGE JUNCTION, is a place where a a jumble of thoughts, a miscellany of ideas, and a muddle of a lot of things meet. Sounds messy, right? Well… who knows, maybe someone else may find some order in my chaos.
THINK TANK

Take the “T” from TEACH and replace it with an “R”
That’s how I see it. teaching is more than a trade, it’s an opportunity to reach out to other people and get to know reality, as it truly is. No masks, no disguises, just people.People with strengths and weaknesses. People with joys and sadness. If you ask me, as a teacher, the best way to make a student understand what you want them to learn, is to get to know who he is, and let him get to know you.

Speak out your mind, don't chatter. Listen...not just hear
“Communicate”
All of us need tips on this topic. Everyone, pretty much has the ability to talk without thinking, hear without listening, nod without agreeing, and stare without seeing. In a lot of ways, people tend to view others superficially. How we view and value other people is reflected on how effectively we communicate. I dare not say that I’m an expert on true communication , but I know its value, and have seen the positive results it had on others on rare moments when I did it right.
“Love…”
Show affection for everyone around you. Be passionate about things that you do, relationships, ideas, goals, dreams, life… Since you’re going to give your heart anyway… give it completely with no conditions… no if’s or but’s. Besides, when all else fails.. LOVE and the PASSION shared.. are things that could motivate you to trust in the existence of hope. There is no need to prove love, seek for it’s proof, or express promises. Life and circumstances test the bonds for us… maybe we just have to see which unspoken vows we gave or received, were fulfilled, broken, or just carelessly blurted in the spur of an exciting moment. True enough, even in its crushed state, I still agree with Tennyson, “My strength is as the strength of ten, because my heart is pure.”
“Pray and Faith”

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."
I am not a religious person. I have no rites , prayers or daily devotions. However, I believe in someone greater than all I know. I believe that He is someone who has control of my life… I trust that He has purpose for me, even if logic and reason tells me otherwise.. Whatever His plan is, I know that when I’m ready… I’ll see his blueprint and say “Thanks, that’s the best road to take”. With eyes closed, I’ll move forward, with simple words, I’ll give thanks. This is not easy to do, however, it keeps me sane.
- Happiness is a choice.
” Just Smile”
Smile, when you are happy;
Smile, when you are sad;
Smile, when you’re in-love;
Smile, though things go bad;
Smile, when life is difficult;
Smile, when you’re at ease;
Smile, when you’re in pain;
Smile, when there’s none to gain.
Smile, when there are prospects;
Smile, when there is no hope;
A smile’s a step to happiness.
A choice to help you cope.
